Capitals, who finished fifth in the last IPL, added fast bowler Mukesh for Rs 5.50 crore. Mukesh’s base price was Rs 20 lakh. Mukesh can now wreak havoc with Enrich Nortje of South Africa. Delhi Capitals also bought Ishant Sharma (₹ 50 Lakh), Phil Salt (₹ 2 Crore), Mukesh Kumar (₹ 5.5 Crore), Manish Pandey (₹ 2.4 Crore), Rilee Russo (₹ 4.6 Crore). There is still Rs 4.45 crore left in the purse of the franchisee.

In the mini auction of IPL 2023, all 10 teams played big bets on all-rounders and bowlers. Of the 80 players bought, 70% were sold in this category, while 30% of the batsmen (including the wicketkeeper) were auctioned. Out of Rs 206.5 crore, 10 franchises spent Rs 103.95 crore i.e. 62.25% on all-rounders. 10 teams spent Rs 167 crore on 80 players.
